PESCADO Y AMOR:
Was started on a warm summer day in Sayulita, Mexico. Where my husband and I lived and played fine-tuning our ideas and our artistic imagination.
Pescado Y Amor is the name of my studio. The story is one that is personal and all about our love of Mexico, love of our ocean, surf vibes, and love of life and art.
Our friends in Mexico called my husband, Ron... Pescado and they called me, Missy...Amor.
Yes, this means Fish And Love if you are not fluent in Spanish. But the real meaning of Pescado Y Amor is Missy And Ron.
I have chosen to keep the original logo that we designed on the beach, in the sand in Sayulita, Mexico...because it is the heart and soul of my brand. Sayulita is the inspiration behind all my colorful, tropical, surf vibes.
I now reside in Oak Island, North Carolina alongside my husband, two dogs, and a cat.
My studio is located on the main drag on Oak Island. You may visit me by Appointment.

ABOUT ME:
Aloha!
My name is Missy Tripp Ronquillo. I am a fine artist with a SWELL little Studio/Gallery called Pescado Y Amor located on Oak Island, North Carolina.
I paint colorful, tropical surf paintings that take you on a journey back to that special vacation, or when you were stoked to learn to surf, or your love for the ocean, your kindness and love you have for our planet.
I have studied art at The Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.; Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia; and Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.
Since 1996, I have established myself as a freelance artist, specializing in custom paintings. I have painted many murals throughout the United States and Mexico.
My originals paintings can be seen in restaurants, cafés, retail establishments, and private homes in the United States, Mexico & Worldwide. Currently, I am not taking custom orders. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, contact me.
